Nominated for a Brighton Girl Award – Experience

I’m absolutely over the moon to share that I’ve been nominated in the Experience category for a Brighton Girl Award!

Thank you so much to everyone who has already voted for me - it truly means the world. And if you haven’t yet, I’ve included the voting link below. Every single vote really does count.

I wanted to write this blog to share what this nomination means to me, and to reflect a little on my journey so far.

A Lovely Surprise

Being nominated really did take me by surprise - mainly because someone put my name forward, took the time to notice and appreciate what I’ve always aimed to do: create meaningful, diverse, engaging and enjoyable experiences for the creative, independent small business community and their supporters.

That recognition alone feels incredibly special! But what makes it even more meaningful is that this nomination coincides with my 10th anniversary year!

Where It All Began

My journey began in 2016 after finishing my degree in Fashion, Media & Promotion. I loved the branding, visual storytelling and marketing side of my course, and I knew I wanted to build something of my own that brought all those elements together - alongside working full-time in marketing.

I’ve always loved arts and crafts, and shopping from small independent businesses. About ten years ago, traditional craft fairs didn’t always reflect the contemporary, design-led creative scene I knew could exist. I saw an opportunity to create something different - something welcoming, modern, inclusive and thoughtfully curated. That vision is still at the heart of everything I do today.

The Heart of It All: The Exhibitors

The real driving force behind everything I do is the passion and dedication of my exhibitors. By creating successful, well-attended events to the very best of my ability, I’m able to provide them with the platform and visibility they truly deserve.

I see first-hand what goes into building a creative business. That beautifully styled stall you see on the day represents months (often years) of work. It starts with an idea, followed by learning, refining, mastering skills, developing products, funding materials, building a brand, making mistakes, networking, and managing the long logistics of trading days.

I work as hard as they do to ensure every event is the very best it can be, using all the skills, knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the past decade.

I often see exhibitors arrive at my events and leave having formed genuine connections with fellow traders, which is always so lovely to witness. There’s a real sense of community on every event day.

What This Nomination Really Represents

This nomination isn’t just recognition for me - it’s recognition for every single exhibitor who has ever been part of Paper Daisy.

Together, we are championing creative small businesses. People aren’t just noticing what we offer - they’re embracing it. An enjoyable, vibrant shopping experience, often complete with delicious food and drink options, creative workshops, live demonstrations, entertainment and a careful attention to aesthetics and atmosphere where possible.

After 10 years of fully committing to focusing & building the Paper Daisy brand, that has just recorded an excess of 12,000 visitors over the Christmas 2025 (our busiest season to date), this nomination in itself feels like a huge reward. I’m up against some very worthy nominees in my category, but regardless of the outcome I will continue to put my heart and soul into Paper Daisy, so please do follow & join me on our journey together!

Please Vote

If you’d like to support me, I would be so grateful for your vote. You don’t have to be a Brighton Girl to vote - anyone can take part, and it only takes a minute. If you voted in the initial round before Christmas, please note that you’ll need to vote again, as the previous votes no longer apply.

Thank you so much for your continued support - it genuinely means everything.
