Exhibitor Information & Application Form

Apply to exhibit at The British Engineerium for the Winter Makers & Art Fair on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November 2025.

Full of history, this venue is the perfect backdrop for a makers fair.

There will be a couple of changes made this year, so please take your time to read through all the information & F.A.Qs set out on this page before applying.

All exhibitors must have Public Liability Insurance - we will be required to see this before the event.

trading options & INFO:

The venue consists of a large hall with a mezzanine gallery floor - all inside. There is no step-free access to the mezzanine floor so please ensure you add any accessibility requirements on your Eventaly profile.

NEW FOR WINTER 2025: Due to popular demand, I will be offering some additional trading spaces in the form of a large marquee (situated in area between the chimney/museum & Coal Shed -highly visible upon entry to site). No power in marquee, other than lighting provided.

There will also be opportunities for Hot Food/Food traders too outside, situated just inside site/adjacent Coal Shed Hall.

Please make application in your first choice of pitch/date option BUT if you’re happy to trade in a variety of pitches, including inside/outside or a different size table/days, please ADD this onto your requirements on your Eventaly dashboard, incase your first option is full.

inside - 6ft table

  • All inside pitches will come with a 6ft table and one chair as standard. Table measures approx 182×77cm.

However, if you prefer to use your own or have a bespoke setup that fits within a 6ft space, you can select this pitch without a table.

If you need a rail space alongside your pitch, please ensure you apply for the option with a rail space. Rails will either be placed alongside your pitch or opposite (on the mezzanine gallery floor). There will not be space to accommodate rails on the day if not already pre-agreed. Rails are not provided - please bring your own (up to 110cm length). Browsers are free but must be listed in your requirements and placed where shown on set up.

Some tables will be placed against the wall (with a chair to the side), if this does not suit your set up, please express on requirements.

    PRICE: from £78 per day

INSIDE - 4FT TABLE

  • If you only need a small pitch, then the 4ft table option will be ideal. Table measures approximately 120cm x 60cm and has a weight limit of 30kg. For this reason, these tables are NOT suitable for heavy setups/products such as large ceramics.

There are limited amount of 4ft table pitches.

Each pitch comes with one chair.

Some tables will be placed against the wall (with a chair to the side), if this does not suit your set up, please express on requirements.

    PRICES: from £53 per day

OUTSIDE - food trucks/gazebos

  • HOT FOOD / DRINKS are welcome to apply for an outside pitch.

£78 per day - we will be looking at booking a maximum of 2 - 3 hot food traders. Trading from a van, trailer or gazebo. Power can be supplied but is limited so please list this on your application.

There will be scope for makers & artists to trade outside (either gazebos/marquee) - more details will be confirmed ASAP.

  • Yes, this is one of the changes we are making this year. There will be no visitor car parking on site. There will be limited parking available for stallholders. As there is not enough spaces for everybody, the fairest way is to pre-book a space in advanced for £5 per day.

  • Yes, the venue has wifi.

  • After receiving feedback from last year’s event, I have made the decision to make a couple of changes which should ease flow and keep everyone happy - as many of you know there were queues all day long at our last Winter fair!

Entrance on the day will be free for those visitors who don’t mind queuing at busy periods and are happy to wait.

However, for those who have expressed an option for an alternative, I am operating optional Advanced Priority entry tickets with a limited availability for £1.50. This allows visitors to get priority entry over free entry into The Coal Shed (Makers Fair) over free entry if queues form.

The outside marketplace will be completely free for everyone and hopefully reduce any queues further.

  • If you have booked but can no longer take part, please let us know ASAP.

No refunds will be given for cancellations within 1 calendar month of the event date. Refunds may be awarded for cancellations outside this time frame, if a suitable replacement can be found, but will incur a £12 admin fee.

We do not deter from our T&Cs, whatever the reason for cancellation. Every event’s precise budget is finalised 1 month in advance of the event, based on number of paid invoices - after this cut off date no refunds or rollovers to other dates can be made.

    OUTSIDE T&Cs:

We will only cancel the outside area, if it’s too unsafe to go ahead (due to high winds).

In this instance, we will give refunds but deduct £15 admin fee which goes on costs already spent (admin, advertising, site costs etc).

Our full cancellation policy can be found here.
