why the british engineerium?

The British Engineerium is one of Sussex's most distinctive event venues.

This stunning Grade II listed Victorian industrial building provides a memorable backdrop for visitors and exhibitors alike, attracting shoppers who are looking for a day out searching for quality handmade products rather than a traditional craft fair experience.

The venue offers:

  • A large indoor exhibition hall (former Coal Shed) spread across two floors

  • Outdoor market areas - including a large marquee & gazebo trading options

  • An opportunity to set up on Friday afternoon

  • Decorated tastefully for a magical festive experience

  • Food and drink traders

  • Live entertainment

  • Workshops and demonstrations (please get in touch with your ideas!)

  • Good transport links - close to bus stops

  • Free visitor entry (however, there are also limited optional queue jump tickets for those who prefer to skip any potential queues)

  • Strong repeat visitor numbers

  • The British Engineerium Museum will be open to visitors for guided steam-up tours

It's an event that people plan to visit - not simply stumble across.
