Our outdoor Summer Street Food & Makers Markets is a perfect opportunity for you to sell your products to the locals and visitors to Brighton in a very central location.
Why The Brighthelm Gardens?
We have chosen one of the very few sheltered, intimate garden spaces in the centre of Brighton to bring this opportunity to you. The Brighthelm Gardens are situated on Queens Road, with entrances from 3 sides from Church Street (wheelchair access), North Road and Queens Rd. Just minutes away, by foot, from Brighton mainline railway station, Churchill Square shopping mall and the very popular North Laine area. The area has paths from each side that lead to central flat area, ideal for gazebos. It is surrounded by grassy areas, benches and mature trees therefore enabling visitors to the event an area to sit, chill, eat and take in the relaxing but enjoyable vibes from our live musicians and performers.
Who can trade with us?
Our aim is to give specially selected local traders and Makers a platform to reach out and network to new customers in a pleasant but busy setting. We welcome a variety of makers/artists/designers/local traders/street food and local produce - so please apply now to be considered!
In the previous year we held an on-site indoor market place too, solely for makers, but due to the great success of the outdoor market (with a very popular Street Food section & a couple of Makers) we have decided to bring both Street Food and Makers fully together to offer a very vibrant and bustling market place. Whilst the Street Food offers a ‘grab and go’ option, we find that many want to browse the market, sit back and enjoy the vibes so combining the two makes very good sense.
The garden is decorated with bunting and we have large signs on the day, at the Queens Rd entrance, detailing the Street Food Menu and what visitors can expect. We have temporary directional signs across the central areas from the Station, Churchill Sq and North Laines on the day to highlight where we are. Large banners are placed upon the garden railings for all passers by to easily see, prior to each event. Posters are situated in shop windows across Brighton and we deliver up to 5,000 flyers across key residential areas across the city. As a main thoroughfare of Brighton we also have a great passing footfall. Adverts are also placed in BN1 magazine, a key free magazine in Brighton and fully online across What’s On guides. We also run sponsored ads of the event on social media.
