Introducing... Iberica

Next up, let's meet Iberica! One of our foodie traders who you'll find at our Easter Boutique Market in Brighton on April 15th.

So when did Iberica start out?

I founded the business back in 2013, after living and studying in Brighton and enjoying the British culture but missing the Spanish food I grew up with'. Since then, we have been building our reputation and relationships across the South East and London with Spanish food lovers who recognise the quality and high standard of our culinary culture.

How has the business developed since?

The business has developed massively, I started with a tiny warehouse and 20 products and nowadays, our portfolio includes more than 250 unique products, from 50 different suppliers that have been carefully selected in person as our aim is to offer a unique range when we source authentic Spanish Food by tasting and choosing only the best, directly from dedicated family businesses that have farmed for generations. Our product line includes; Iberico Bellota Ham from the Black Iberian Pig living free-range in the meadows of Extremadura, traditional Manchego cheese, authentic chorizo, extra virgin olive oil, olives, vegetables preserves, spices and typical sweets in both retail and catering size, to meet the needs of both, delis and restaurants.

What do you enjoy most about attending fairs?

I love taking part in farmers’ markets and trade shows, as it is a great chance to meet our buyers. I love talking to our clients, sharing our knowledge for food and in particular recommending some traditional Spanish recipes!! On top of that, we love to hear their feedback on our products. Finally, it is a good opportunity to promote the other areas of the business, such as our website where they can buy our full range of products, promote our catering services for parties, weddings and corporate, and of course, our main activity, wholesale distribution to many of the best restaurants in Sussex and London. This includes independent Spanish restaurants and tapas bars, hotels, catering businesses as well as deli shops and farms shops which seek to provide authentic Spanish flavours to their customers.

Will you be offering anything special at our Easter Boutique Market?

Apart from our full range of Spanish food delicacies, such as Manchego cheese, Iberico Bellota Ham, gazpacho, salmorejo, preserves, etc. We will also be cooking some tasty Chorizo Rolls and Serrano ham baguettes!
