Introducing... Glitter and Gem

03/24/2017

Meet Sarah and Jock, aka, Glitter and Gem! You will catch them at our Easter Boutique Market, Our Summer Makers Markets and even our Christmas Markets in December!

So, where did it all start?

We started out with an interest for gemstones and a hobby of wire work jewellery making. This quickly developed as a passion for cutting our own gemstones & crystals ourselves and learning various techniques to incorporate these into our designs.

How has your business developed?

Our business has developed by keeping true to what we originally set out to do...be original. By using our own hand cut and hand finished gemstones we can offer our customers something very unique and original, we design our pieces around the finished gemstone and let the gemstones speak for themselves. Where we don't use our own gems we look out for really interesting stones and crystals to incorporate into our designs, for affordable fashion pieces.

Whats your favourite stone to work with?

Opals are our favourite! You never know what you can find until you start cutting the rough stones- they truly are a magical stone to work with and never stop ceasing to amaze!

What do you enjoy the most about attending fairs and markets?

Meeting people who are genuinely interested in what we do and value the workmanship, we also like to shop from other makers as we know how important it is to support handmade.

Have you got anything special for your events in 2017?

We will have lots of new designs with some amazing gemstones to show which we are very excited about!

Sounds great, we can't wait to see your new designs!
